Other Research Degrees FOR ORDINANDS

Ordinands may train at Westcott as candidates on Doctoral programmes at any University approved by the Research Degree Panel of the Ministry Division. Ordinands would normally be expected to complete the PhD before ordination over a four year period. In addition to the PhD, ordinands are required by the House to attend Life and Service, Short Intensive Courses, a five-term Parish Attachment, an eight week Parish Placement, a Social Context Placement, and to undertake any further studies in order to full any further training expectations required by the House of Bishops.

RESEARCH DEGREES FOR INDEPENDENT STUDENTS

Through the Cambridge Theological Federation and in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University, we offer opportunities for further study on academic programmes for MPhil, PhD and a Professional Doctorate in Practical Theology (DProf). These programmes are ideally suited to clergy wishing to explore further ministerial development.
