On Wednesdays during Lent, members of the Westcott community are praying the Way of the Cross. This year some original artwork has been created for each station by members of the House, including students, partners and children.
The fourteen Stations of the Cross are a tradition normally observed during Lent as a way to remember the last few hours of Christ's life, and depict a series of events which took place during the walk Jesus took to his crucifixion. Westcott Tutor Christopher Woods says, 'It makes our prayer in Lent much more focused on the passion (or death) of Christ. Normally the stations would be marked in churches where there are traditional images. In Westcott we walk the cloister using the creative art as a means of meditation.'
