Chris is Interim Vice Principal. Working alongside the Principal and colleagues, he is responsible for encouraging good relationships between all members of Westcott House and its community, assisting in the development in formational and academic pathways and overseeing pastoral care. He takes an active role in the worshipping life of the college, and contributes to the teaching of the Ministry for Life programme, sharing the experience of Parish Ministry, preaching, presentation and voice production and how we might make the most of opportunities for mixed media communication, particularly Radio broadcasting. He is an ex officio member of Westcott Council.

Chris trained for the Priesthood at St Stephen’s House in Oxford. Ordained in 1991, he has served in London and Southwark Dioceses as Parish Priest in Tottenham, Ealing, Wimbledon, and Putney. Chris was also assistant Chaplain at Trinity Hospice in South London, for four years. Whilst in Southwark Diocese, Chris became Assistant Director of ordinands for the Kingston Episcopal Area and Bishops Examining Chaplain, posts he held for 9 years. Chris moved to Bury St Edmunds in 2019 and was appointed as Bishop’s Advisor for Formation and Assistant DDO for the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. In addition, serving for a year as interim Priest in charge, firstly in Haverhill and for a second year in Sudbury. Chris was Interim Diocesan Director of Ordinands throughout 2021-22. Alongside his Parish and vocations ministry, Chris was for 10 years, involved in religious broadcasting, primarily with BBC Radio 2.

Outside of work, Chris continues his lifelong love of Theatre and gets to as much of the National Theatre’s annual repertoire as he can. He is interested in liturgy as theatre. He is a keen skier, loves good food, good wine, and good company.
