Prince Edward visits
Prince Edward meeting Westcott students in the Cunningham Room
Friday 6 May saw His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex visit Westcott House in his capacity as Patron of the House Development scheme.
Received by the Principal, Canon Chris Chivers, senior staff and students, HRH had the opportunity to hear about the latest plans for the development of the House, and to meet leaving ordinands - as he learned something of the diversity of contexts in which they will minister.
Together with the Principal, the Chair of the Council, the Right Reverend Stephen Conway, Bishop of Ely, and Ben Bell, Senior Student, presented to HRH those members of Westcott Council who represent Cambridge University's Divinity Faculty, officers of the Cambridge Theological Federation, staff, student and spouse officers of the house.
It was HRH's second visit to the House and he was clearly impressed by the diverse stories of vocation that he heard and the commitment of students to serve the community in the widest sense through the ordained ministries for which they are being prepared.
