Life at Westcott

At Westcott House we rejoice in knowing and sharing God’s love in inclusive and hopeful community

Partners & Families

Partners and Families

A student’s calling to public ministry involves and impacts upon their wider circles of care and support. We make sure that partners and families are pastorally and socially supported by other partners and families during a student’s formation at Westcott House. We value the diverse gifts and backgrounds that partners and families bring to the community and warmly include them in our worship and social life. The Chapel, Hall, Common Room, and Gardens are spaces in which partners and families can join in with the wider community as much as they want.

Living in Cambridge

Westcott House is located in the centre of the city, making access to transport, shops and events easy. Cambridge is a compact and diverse city full of rich opportunities. It has a good public transport infrastructure making travel simple across the city and local region, as well as travel onwards across the country. The city has a vibrant social scene, lots of green spaces and play parks, museums, arts and music events, cultural and science festivals, and a thriving network of churches across all traditions. Cambridge has excellent childcare networks, nurseries, and schools. The city has good employment opportunities and is within easy commuting distance to many other cities.

Schools

Residential students with children will undoubtedly want to talk with other parents at Westcott House who have children in local schools, and this takes place during individual visits to Westcott House or on an Open Day. Cambridge has a highly mobile population and as a result many local schools are well-versed on admissions. Some schools manage their own admissions process, others are through the Local Education Authority. Please check the application criteria when considering schools.
