Independent Study

We are able to offer the possibility of independent study as part of a sabbatical.

Sabbaticals

We welcome people looking for a short or long sabbatical stay in a beautiful theological college in the historic city of Cambridge, living as part of a diverse Christian community.

Visits may be anything from a two-week short stay to a full academic year.

You may be looking for a place to live and worship while you discern the next step in your life, a place to refresh a sense of connection with self and God, or for a place where you will have space and library resources to pursue research or personal study.

How you use a sabbatical is up to you – but we can help you discern a pattern to suit your particular needs.

We are also able to offer the possibility of independent study as part of a sabbatical.

Sabbatical guests are welcome to share as fully as they wish in the wider life of the college, including its social life and its daily worship, however, we do not offer spiritual direction or counselling.

Westcott House can ordinarily offer accommodation for individual visitors and sometimes for families.

We have a small number of flats that might be available, all with private bathrooms and kitchens.

Alternatively, we can recommend nearby accommodation if onsite housing is not available.

Enquiries about sabbaticals should be made to the Tutor for Admissions or by contacting the admissions office: admissions@westcott.cam.ac.uk
